What nobody understands who isn’t an entrepreneur is the chanciness of business. Outsiders tend to see the rewards when business is successful, but what they don’t realise is that running a business is to be on a constant knife edge between success and failure. Not only are trading businesses vulnerable to all kinds of problems that are too big to control: like economic factors and government action, but regulators and lawmakers are constantly active in introducing new requirements which can make the difference between a successful business and one that’s no longer viable.
